If you're elected or re-elected, what will be your top priority? Why?

My top priority will be making life more affordable for families while protecting the opportunities that help you build a good life. That means supporting strong public schools, expanding access to quality health care, and making smart investments that strengthen our local economy. The rising costs of housing, groceries, gas and utilities are putting too much strain on working families. No one should have to worry that the basics are becoming out of reach or that working hard isn't enough to
get ahead.

If you're elected or re-elected, how will you involve your constituents in the process of making decisions?

Listening doesn’t stop after Election Day. I will be an accessible representative who actively seeks input from the people I serve. That means continuing to knock on doors, attend community events and meet people where they are. I'll also spend time in our schools, small businesses, churches and community organizations because the best decisions are informed by the people they affect.

Even when we disagree, everyone deserves to be heard. My job is to represent the entire district—not just the people who voted for me.

Why should voters choose you for the position you're running for?

I'm running because I believe public service is about people, not politics. I will show up, listen and work hard every day to represent the people of Pitt County with honesty, transparency and respect.

As a stay-at-home mom, volunteer and community advocate, I understand the challenges families face because they are challenges my own family faces every day. I don't believe elected officials should lose touch with the people they represent. I'll be present in our community, accessible to constituents and focused on finding practical solutions that improve your life. I will always put the interests of
our district ahead of partisan politics.

Which three things about you do you most want voters to know?

· First, I will always be accessible and accountable. If you have a concern, you deserve a representative who will listen and respond.

· Second, I believe in bringing people together to solve problems. We won't agree on everything, but we can still work together to improve our community.

· Third, I genuinely care about Pitt County. My family lives here, my children are growing up here, and I want every family to have the opportunity to succeed. My decisions will always be guided by what's best for our community.

Is there anything else about you that you wish to tell voters?

I believe in showing up, listening and treating you with kindness. Public office is about service, and I will work every day to earn your trust. My commitment is simple: I will be present, prepared and focused on making Pitt County an even better place to live, work and raise a family.

Your current job and title:

I am a physician who cares for patients in the emergency department and teaches at the
medical school. I am an Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine at East Carolina University’s Brody School of Medicine.

If you're elected or re-elected, what will be your top priority? Why?

My top priority is to continue making North Carolina more affordable and economically vibrant while creating opportunities for our state and community to succeed.

I will continue working to make sure families keep more of their own money through lower income and property taxes. This term, I sponsored bills to allow tax deductions for medication costs and to eliminate the sales tax on groceries.

The budget that I supported had the largest teacher raise since 2006 and made pay for new teachers the highest in the Southeast. As one of two physicians in the NC General Assembly, I have been working to lower the cost of healthcare. I will continue fighting to ensure physicians and patients, not insurance companies, make decisions about healthcare.

If you're elected or re-elected, how will you involve your constituents in the process of making decisions?

I will continue to seek feedback and advice from my constituents. My office welcomes input to address concerns and feedback on policy and individual constituent issues. My email is timothy.reeder@ncleg.gov. I also have community listening sessions and meet or speak individually with constituents on a regular basis.

Why should voters choose you for the position you're running for?

Over my last two-year term, I have been a fierce advocate for Pitt County, ECU and our community. I achieved significant victories in the budget with nearly $160 million for ECU and ECU Health, $4.5 million for Pitt-Greenville Airport, $4.1 million for Pitt County municipalities and $325,000 for local non-profits.

I have been one of the most productive legislators, leading efforts to pass a significant number of bills into law. I was able to help pass noteworthy legislation to improve education, reduce taxes, protect rural healthcare and hospitals, and increase pay for teachers and other state employees.

As a physician legislator, I bring a unique perspective to the General Assembly to
help improve the quality of our healthcare system and work to make it more affordable.

Which three things about you do you most want voters to know?

· I will work hard every day to advocate for my district and make North Carolina a better
place to live.

· I believe in working together to understand different perspectives, talking, and building consensus to find the best solutions and deliver results.

It has been an honor to represent Pitt County in the House of Representatives. I am dedicated to ensuring that our community continues to thrive in the future. This means supporting our families, maintaining an excellent educational system, growing our economy, creating jobs, and keeping our community safe and a great place to live. I look forward to representing you for the next two years.
