If you're elected or re-elected, what will be your top priority? Why?

Keeping Pitt County improving as a great place to live, work, play and visit. I will support law enforcement, fire departments and EMS,
and schools. I’ll work to maintain clean air and water. I want to recruit businesses that will pay living wages, offer great benefits and respect our
environment. I’ll promote improving and adding access to recreational services such as parks, playgrounds, gymnasiums and civic centers. I want to identify opportunities to encourage people outside of our area to visit Pitt County.

If you're elected or re-elected, how will you involve your constituents in the process of making decisions?

I’ll attend town councils and keep in contact with city leaders. I’ll have an email address to garner input. I’m open to just walking the sidewalks and talking to citizens.

Why should voters choose you for the position you're running for?

I was in computing for over 40 years. The main job for a computer professional is finding out what users need and filling those needs in an efficient and cost-effective manner. For 10 years I managed a staff of 80 professionals and a budget of $7 million. I know how to accomplish good things within budget constraints.

Which three things about you do you most want voters to know?

I’ve lived in Pitt County for over 40 years; I love it here and have no plans to leave. I’ve worked in a military, business, and an educational environment. My professional career has been one of providing services to others.

Is there anything else about you that you wish to tell voters?

I was employed by ECU for 19 years and was the Director of Computing and Information Systems for the last 10 of those years. In my last year there, ECU was ranked by Yahoo! Internet Life magazine as 25th in the country as “a most wired” campus. We were the only public university from North Carolina on the list. Duke was listed at No. 57 and Wake Forest at No. 77.
