    Farmville Town Mayor

Voters Choose One of Two Candidates

John O. Moore, candidate, Farmville mayor

    John O. Moore

    Your current job and title:

I am and have been a business consultant for more than 50 years. I am currently
serving my third term as Mayor of Farmville.

    Your highest level of education:

I earned an associate degree at Pitt Technical Institute, now known as Pitt
    Community College.

If you're elected or re-elected, what will be your top priority? Why?

My top priority if re-elected is to see the construction of a new fire station that will allow our firefighters to have better and newer equipment, which will make it possible for them to offer expanded services to Farmville and the surrounding areas they support.

Those involved with industries, businesses, retail and housing find new and modern services appealing, so that is a plus for Farmville's anticipated growth. The fire station is a real need.

If you're elected or re-elected, how will you involve your constituents in the process of making decisions?

When I began my time in public service to Farmville, first as a Commission and now as Mayor, I told the Farmville citizens that if they would be my eyes and ears, that I would be their voice. My being accessible through the network of families, friends, and neighbors has kept me informed about what matters most to them. They want a safe, clean, and affordable place to live, work and raise their families.

Why should voters choose you for the position you're running for?

My entire adult life has been focused on establishing and building strong relationships with people, organizations and businesses. These relationships are beneficial when needs are great. Life experiences, a vision for our community, a wide and diverse association with many at the business, military, and personal levels, and my willingness to be open to answer questions to continue to bring transparency to town government.

Which three things about you do you most want voters to know?

The three things that I want the voters of Farmville to know are that I will continue to be approachable, attentive, and available towards meeting their needs. My career doesn't require extended travels, so that allows me to be flexible and ready to respond quickly.

Is there anything else aboutyou that you wish to tell voters?

To the voters of Farmville, I want you to know that I only have your best interest at heart. Your well-being and YOUR quality of life is a priority. I ask you to trust me with your vote. Together, we have accomplished a great deal, but there's still much to finish. Together, we can make it happen. I humbly ask for and will appreciate your vote for John Moore for Mayor on November 4th.
