If you're elected or re-elected, what will be your top priority? Why?
My top priority is to remove the apparent disconnect between the citizens and Town of Ayden staff.
Citizens currently feel as though town staff are not a part of the Ayden community, nor do they have the best interest of the community at heart.
If you're elected or re-elected, how will you involve your constituents in the process of
making decisions?Utilizing email and social media, I will strive to be transparent, offering explanations, sharing personal opinions, and requesting citizen input regarding all issues. I will make myself available to citizens in person and via telephone.
Why should voters choose you for the position you're running for?
Throughout the last several years I feel that I have exhibited dedication, diligence and tenacity it takes to be a true voice for the citizens of Ayden. I won’t back down when it comes to standing up for right and wrong.
Which three things about you do you most want voters to know?
1. For the previous 15 years I managed my family’s business, helping to grow it
exponentially. Today, Carolina Caliber Company is largely considered throughout the industry as one of the nation’s top independently owned outdoor sporting retailers.2. While studying Environmental Health & Safety at East Carolina, I interned/worked with the Pitt County Planning Department.
3. I have always strived to stay active within the community. This includes over 15 years of service with Ayden Fire and Rescue. In 2010, I was honored to be awarded Firefighter of Year.
Is there anything else you want to tell voters?
I am from Ayden. I am for Ayden. I love Ayden. I listen to advice and opinions from experts, though I am an independent thinker. I do my own research and gather
facts from all sides, prior to making an informed decision. I vow to be a voice for the Ayden community, while fighting against the cronyism, nepotism, rascalism and corruption of days past.
